个人简介

Dr. Li Tao is an assistant professor in the Bioscience and Biomedical Engineering (BSBE) Thrust, Systems Hub, HKUST (Guangzhou), and The Brain and Intelligence Research Institute. She obtained her Ph.D. from Peking Union Medical College/Tsinghua University, where she studied the aging process using quantitative proteomics. Dr. Li Tao then conducted her postdoctoral research at Stanford University/HHMI, focusing on studying neuronal development and functions at the cellular level. In 2023, Dr. Li Tao joined the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) with research interests centered around understanding the molecular mechanisms that regulate neural development and neurotransmission in normal and age-related disease states. She plans to combine multiple strategies, including genome editing, live-cell imaging, behavioral assays, and large high-throughput proteomics to identify novel regulators that involved in neuronal development and neurological diseases, especially neurodegenerative disorders.
