个人简介

Dr. Xian Zhang is an Assistant Professor in the Bioscience and Biomedical Engineering Thrust, Systems Hub, and an Affiliate Assistant Professor at the Division of Life Science at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). Dr. Xian Zhang obtained his B.Sc. degree in bioscience from Anhui Normal University, and Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). Following his doctoral studies, Dr. Zhang joined Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) in 2015 as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist, where he focused on the neural circuit mechanisms underlying motivated behaviors in the amygdala. His research employs an integrative approach, combining neurobiological, physiological, and behavioral approaches to elucidate how the brain orchestrates emotional responses and behaviors that are essential for survival and social interaction.
